Financial support for students

AMU students are awarded bursaries under Art. 3 of the Bursary Rules and Regulations of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (more on http://www.amu.cz/amu-1/rules-regulations/internal-rules-regulations/bursary-rules-and-regulations-1?set_language=en), which is governed by the provisions of Act no. 111/ 1998 Coll. on higher education institutions including amendments to some other acts, Section 91. It is also possible to provide an accommodation bursary to students of public higher education institutions under a decree by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports.

Foreign students have various options for obtaining support to study at AMU.

Exceptionally successful foreign students in accredited fields in English may be awarded a bursary starting in the second year, which consists in a reduction of the tuition fee.

The Visegrad Scholarship Program provides support to students from Albania (AL), Armenia (AM), Azerbaijan (AZ), Belarus (BY), Bosnia and Herzegovina (BA), Croatia (HR), the Czech Republic (CZ), Georgia (GE), Hungary (HU), Macedonia (MK), Moldova (MD), Montenegro (ME), Poland (PL), the Russian Federation (RU), Serbia (RS), Slovakia (SK) and Ukraine (UA) for Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD studies for 1-2 semesters in one of the countries named. The same rules are applicable to Kosovar scholars.

CEEPUS is a Central European exchange programme for higher education studies focused on multilateral regional cooperation.

The AKTION programme offers cooperation between the Czech Republic and Austria in the area of science and education, and supports joint research projects and academic exchanges between higher education institutions in both countries.

The J. William Fulbright Commission is an international organisation supporting educational and scientific exchanges between the Czech Republic and the United States of America through scholarship programmes and informational and counselling services.

Each year, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic offers scholarships for foreign citizens under bilateral intergovernmental agreements concluded with a range of countries.
