Basic information on submitting Bachelor’s, Master’s and other university qualification work at AMU.

    1. Effective 1 January 2006, an amendment to the Higher Education Act requires, among other things, that all universities publish Bachelor’s, Master’s, dissertations and other university qualification work (hereinafter UQW) is made available in a database.
    1. In accordance with the amendment, AMU enforces an Internal Rule on the Method for Publishing Final Work; which states the general conditions and method of publication.
    2. In order to meet its statutory obligations, the university must also organize the collection of required data.
    3. The collection of required data and submission of work shall comply with Rector’s Decision No. 3/2006 – Methodology for the uniform lay-out, drafting, storing and publication of university qualification work at AMU.
    4. The lay-out of textual work shall comply with Rector’s Decision No. 4/2006 – Instructions for the creation and uniform lay-out of university qualification work at AMU with the annex Examples.
    5. In accordance with Act No. 216/2006 Coll., as amended by Act No. 121/2001 Coll., on Copyright, on copyright related laws and on a change to certain laws (the Copyright Act), written licensing agreements shall be concluded at AMU with authors in order to publish UQW.
    6. A licensing agreement concluded between the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, represented by the Dean as the assignee of the license, and the author of the work, shall be signed and submitted by the author for every piece of work upon its submission.
    7. If the author does not agree to the granting of a licence for a work’s publication, the author shall state this fact in writing in the licensing agreement.
    8. The evidentiary data regarding all types of UQW including information regarding licensing agreement will be collected in the Study Information System (KOS) from which the licensing agreement will be printed.
    9. Instructions for beginning the data completion process is given by the respective department.
    10. If the author does not agree to the granting of a licence for a work's publication, the author shall state this in writing in the licensing agreement.
    11. It is obligatory to complete the data on practical / artistic parts of the work or performance. The KOS system includes the relevant forms for each type of work.
    12. AMU will allow access, in digital form, to all defended works (and in compliance with the signed licensing agreement) in the digital repository of the AMU Dspace system.
    13. In accordance with the latest amendment to copyright law, all printed work shall be available to present interested parties at the relevant departmental library of AMU.
