The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (AMU) is the leading educational art institution in Central Europe. Thanks to its broad scope ranging from theatre, music and dance to TV and movie production, AMU is a diverse and nurturing space for young artists to discover, master and further develop any talents they might possess.

AMU’s International Department is in charge of developing international relationships and organising international exchange programmes that provide mobility for students and academic workers. International mobility programmes play an indispensable role in the process of internationalising AMU.

The inherent international nature and openness of AMU are the foundation for an enriching exchange of creative and educational experience and ideas as well as for retaining and developing AMU’s portfolio of programmes taught in foreign languages.

All three faculties of AMU financially and organisationally support various international activities of both students and employees: study stays, hands-on internships, employee mobility involving educational stays and training as part of Erasmus+ and outside it, participation in seminars, workshops, courses, competitions and festivals in Europe and beyond. The principal source of financial support for international activities is the Erasmus+ Programme and the International Cooperation Program as part of the Institutional Plan, though the overall offer of mobility programmes is quite diverse. One of the frequently used internal scholarship programmes of AMU, the Programme in Support of International Short-term Mobility for AMU’s Doctoral Programme Students provides financing for students to cover their trips abroad to attend conferences, workshops and festivals, visit libraries and archives, and consult international experts.

AMU maintains agreements with a variety of European universities as well as educational institutions outside of the EU. The academy is also involved in a range of international artistic and research projects and is a member of international professional organisations.
