The Academy of Performing Arts’ home for all students, academic and professional staff who want to improve their language skills.
We offer teaching across 7 modern languages and English for Specific Purposes with emphasis on the performing arts vocabulary – from compulsory to elective modules and at several levels. You can choose from English, Czech for foreigners, French, Italian, Russian and Spanish. We also provide compulsory modules of English for Visual Arts for the students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (AVU).
Using modern teaching methods along with online teaching platforms (Moodle, MS Teams etc.) and high-quality resources, our tutors teach in small groups to help students advance their languages and meet like-minded people from the community of arts and performing arts schools both local and international.
Conveniently located in the heart of Prague’s Lesser Town, the Language Centre is a place for anyone at AMU and beyond who wants to join our community of language lovers, giving you a space to share your language skills and exchange cultural experiences.
