Discover new angles of interpreting classical music with MusEquality. Thanks to our
unique instrumentation and an approach based on folk music roots, we open the doors to
new ways of performing classical music. Our chamber line-up of dual violins, an
accordion, a cimbalom and a bass allows us to approach score transcriptions innovatively.
As a result, we bring our audience experiences that transcend genres and time. We do not
want to change the content – we just want to discover additional layers by setting it into a
new context.
8:20–9:00 pm Boh Vajec + sklobeton + Potopa Baša = Formačka
Slam poetry, deconstruction of Slovak smalltown brass music, and techno: these are the
cornerstones of Formačka, a musical performance by Richard Grimm, František Pisarovič
and Barbora Markovová. Their tempo is murderous, their concerts are brief, and their hometowns are Senica and Sabinov.
9:20–10:00 pm Predskokan otrok – Hunting & Diplomacy (Yutopislavia)
Predskokan otrok’s new album is based on the collaboration with visual artist Olja Triaška
Stefanović whose artistic pursuits have been focusing on the politics of memory in the
former Yugoslavia in her art for the past decade. Her artistic project titled “Yutopislavia:
Intimate Stories of Non-Aligned” critically explores the culture and everyday life of
adolescence in a nation built on the ‘brotherhood and unity’ principle, initiated by the
Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) in 1961. Due to the sheer extent of the project, the musical
treatment has focused on a part of the book titled Hunting & Diplomacy.
