SILENCE - NOT SILENCE

3. October 2024 18:30 -

3. October 2024 22:00

As part of the European Sustainability Week 2024 (ETUR 2024), the AMU Environmental Panel is organising a series of events called SILENCE – NOT SILENCE (4a1/2 AMU Environmental Day). The main day will be 3 October 2024 😊

On Thursday, Oct. 3, the program is free and open to the general public, you can look forward to:

A performative walk with Ian Mikyska, which will begin after the screening at FAMU in the so-called Lažan
and
Evening screening of FAMU films at the Lažanský Palace screening room
Deconstructing sustainability, or how to survive another academic year: A film evening with a discussion for students and employees of AMU, and also for everyone interested in what sustainability means to young filmmakers.
Come and draw inspiration from a current crop of short films by FAMU students, and take part in the ensuing discussion. How is sustainability reflected in the current cinema? Is sustainability present during the actual making of films? What are the similarities between filmmaking and other artistic jobs in this respect?

The workshops on 30 Sep and 1 Oct have limited capacity, are for AMU students and are on a sign-up basis via the KOS student system (workshop annotations below).

30. 9. 24, 10:00-13:00, Galerie HAMU
Clown-activist workshop (Florent Golfier, tYhle)

This workshop moves between activism, intervention and (clown) performance. It offers a diverse set of performative and activist exercises with which participants can find their own path to clowning. The motto is “Your clown is as individual as you are”, so there are no limitations except your own imagination. The workshop is open to everyone, no previous experience is necessary. The workshop will be held in Czech or English depending on the needs of the participants.

1. 10. 24, 10:00-13:00, small dance hall at DAMU
Soundpainting workshop with Emilie Forck (TDU Wien)

Soundpainting is a multidisciplinary language for creating instant composition. It was founded in 1974 by the New Yorker Composer Walter Thompson and is now co-developed and applied by a world wide network. With Soundpainting you shape improvisations or compose in real time using hand and body gestures. It is used by musicians, dancers, actors and visual artists (and helps to practice listening, understanding the group energy and develop skills to improvise with voice, movement or with a theatrical character.) In this workshop we will learn the basics of the gestures and experiment with them in cocreated pieces. It is an open laboratory - everybody can try to perform as an actor, a musician, a dancer or the soundpainter and no pre-experience is needed. If you have, you can bring instruments.
