"In terms of the application of Generative AI in audiovisual industries, it seems no longer a question of ‘if’ but on ‘how’. Though many questions of legallity, ethics and sustainability remain unresolved and a vocal majority of creatives and pats of the audience decry the usage of Generative AI, the impact can be seen in various fields of film and series: While end-to-end production is still elusive, usage of Generative AI is growing – not the least under shrinking budgets and a industry under stress. 

Giving a general framework for tracing the multilevel impact of Generative AI, this presentation sketches an overview of current developments: How has Germany beren established as a laboratory for legal precedence? Why is the technology scrambling the classical production hierarchies and value chains? And what does the current developments in Asia point to as the future of content creation?" Gerhard Maier
