The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (AMU) is pleased to announce the launch of a new project aimed at improving the quality of life for seniors. AMU students have prepared varied cultural programmes for senior citizens' homes, which are provided completely free of charge.
This project, which is still ongoing in Prague, includes various forms of artistic performances such as concerts, theatre performances, dance performances, etc. The aim is not only to offer entertainment and cultural experiences to the residents of senior citizens' homes, but also to promote intergenerational dialogue and to connect young artists with the older generation.
"We are very happy to be able to contribute to enriching the lives of seniors through our programmes. I am very happy that there has been an extraordinary interest in our initiative among the students; they themselves realize that they can help. Their involvement can then lead to a deepening of their understanding and contribute to the maturation of their artistic expression." says Jan Hančil, Vice-Rector of AMU.
The project of cultural programmes for homes for the elderly is another example of how AMU is trying to use the arts to bring about positive changes in society.
