On 4–5 June 2026, the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (AMU) hosted the 186th Plenary Meeting of the Czech Rectors Conference and a joint meeting of the Slovak Rectors Conference and the Czech Rectors Conference.
The main topics of discussion were higher education policy issues, in particular the draft new Higher Education Act, the strategic governance and funding of higher education institutions, and the evaluation of the quality of educational and creative activities at universities.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Czech and Slovak higher education institutions, Minister of Education Robert Plaga, Dana Bilíková, Director General of the Higher Education, Science and Research Section of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, and Tomáš Kašparovský, Chair of the Council of Higher Education Institutions. Rectors discussed the current state of preparations for the new accreditation standards with Jaroslav Miller, Chair of the National Accreditation Bureau for Higher Education.
As part of the accompanying programme, students of the HAMU Percussion Department gave a concert through which the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague commemorated the 80th anniversary of its foundation.
