In accordance with Article 3(1) of Rector's Decree No. 9/2016, as amended by Rector's Decrees No. 9/2019, 15/2019 and 1/2020, and on the basis of the mandate to perform the relevant agenda No. PID AMU/22/023097 dated 30 September 2022, I hereby announce

STUDENT GRANT COMPETITION FOR THE YEAR 2023

for the allocation and use of earmarked support for Specific University Research (hereinafter referred to as "SUR") in 2023

  1. The rules of the Student Grant Competition are governed by Rector's Decree No. 9/2016, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the "Decree"), the Rules of the Ministry of Education for the Provision of Special Purpose Support for SUV, as amended.
  2. In accordance with Article 4, paragraph 1 of the Decree, I am announcing a competition for one-year and two-year projects at the faculties with the implementation period from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023, or from 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2024.
  3. A maximum of CZK 250,000 for each year of the project can be applied for to support one project, the output of which may include (but not be limited to) a master's thesis or dissertation in addition to the outputs eligible for the Research and Development Information System (RIV).
  4. Competition schedule
  • 19 October 2022 … announcement of the competition via the AMU website
  • 21 November 2022 at 1:00 p.m. deadline for applications at individual faculties
  • 5 December 2022 - 6 January 2023 … meetings of faculty grant committees
  • 16 January 2023 … Publication of the conditional decision on the support of grant applications (the final funding of the project will be decided after the allocation of support for the SUR to AMU for 2023 by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, probably in early February 2023).
  • 15 January (or the first working day thereafter if it falls on a public holiday or rest day) … Submission of the interim or final report

In the event that the amount of allocated dedicated SUR support for AMU exceeds the volume of all supported projects in the first round of SUR, the individual faculties will launch additional SUR calls no later than during the month of March 2023.

  5. Funding for editorial costs can only be requested within the budget of a one-year project if the applicant(s) provide evidence of the level of work in progress of the manuscript (an electronic version of the manuscript can be included in the application form). If editorial costs are requested for a two-year project, the timetable should be planned so that the manuscript, if it does not already exist at the time of submission, is produced in the first year of the project. However, it is possible to request funding for a project that will only result in the production of a book manuscript. Funds for editorial costs can then be requested in the next year of the competition, or after approval of the manuscript by the NAMU (AMU Publishing) Editorial Committee from the publisher's internal resources.
  6. The following dedication must be given for all publications produced in the framework of the project: This study/publication/output has been produced at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague within the framework of the project "PROJECT NAME" supported by funds for specific university research.
The initial allocation of the JRC funds for 2023 under Article 2(3) of the Decree will be determined by an addendum to this announcement no later than 31 October 2022.
