The academic calendar sets out in particular the start dates of the individual semesters, the dates of holiday periods and the end date of the academic year. It also sets out the periods during which students should register for subjects.

The academic calendar regulates only the deadlines for students of Bachelor´s and Master´s degree programmes, the deadlines related to doctoral degree programmes are determined by the faculty schedule and individual study plans. Enrolment of first-year students takes place according to the dates set by the faculties' schedules.

**The exact number of weeks of teaching in the winter and summer semester is determined by the faculty schedules, while the minimum number of weeks of contact teaching is 12, according to the real distribution of the study load over time; the central schedule of AMU applies to teaching implemented by central workplaces (languages, physical education).
