A written thesis is a requirement of all Bachelor’s, Master’s, continuing Master’s and doctoral programmes of study at AMU.
TOPIC AND TITLE OF THE THESIS
The first step in the process of preparing a thesis is to select its topic and title. Choose a thesis topic that corresponds to your programme of study and is also of interest to you! The thesis should address issues which are easy to grasp, can be defined unambiguously, and have not been elaborated extensively hitherto.
Enter the assignment into KOS and then submit the printed and signed thesis proposal (návrh tématu kvalifikační práce) by the deadline set by the faculty calendar to the department or to the Department of Academic Affairs (Studijní oddělení), as the case may be.
When writing your thesis, you will understandably use works (i.e. books, articles, photographs, films, musical scores, etc.) by other authors. You should always make it clear what is your own text and what has been borrowed from others, i.e. you should always duly reference the source you have used in the form of a bibliographic citation.
First, it is necessary to be registered for one of the state final examination dates. Then you just need to upload your thesis to KOS in PDF format (without password protection or other software security instruments).
The faculty may require (at most) one printed and bound copy of the thesis for use in the state final examination. The formal requirements shall be set by the Dean.
