Support for doctoral research stays abroad

AMU’s doctoral students may apply for financial support for short-term international mobility five times a year; this covers trips to conferences, workshops, courses, or for targeted individual research. The maximum duration of a stay is 10 calendar days. The support is intended for those types of mobility that cannot be planned a year ahead and, as such, cannot be financed under the Student Grant Competition, or stays whose duration is shorter than the minimum duration required by Erasmus+ rules. The terms and conditions for support are laid down in the METHODOLOGICAL INSTRUCTION FROM THE VICE-RECTOR No. 1_2021, Programme in Support of Short-term International Mobility for Doctoral Students.

The support is subject to the decision of a panel involving Vice-Rectors of AMU and the Bursar of AMU. The panel is in session in accordance with the five deadlines for submitting applications under the following schedule:

a. 15 March – decision due by 29 March
b. 14 May – decision due by 28 May
c. 14 July – decision due by 28 July
d. 10 September – decision due by 20 September
e. 15 November – decision due by 30 November

Current information

In connection with the global spread of COVID-19 and limited opportunities for travelling abroad, we would like to inform you about the current options for financing short-term doctoral projects.

The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague considers it important to ensure that its students can continue their education and professional development despite this emergency situation and that they can flexibly use resources for international activities.
Therefore, we would like to ask you to continue actively seeking specific options for virtual education and meeting international experts in your field throughout 2023 – for example in the form of webinars, online conferences, etc. and to submit applications for the respective financing to AMU’s International Affairs (contact: Klára Banotová, klara.banotova@amu.cz ) with respect to the timing of the individual calls. Virtual (online) doctoral mobility stays are still supported, but applications must be submitted to the panel of Vice-Rectors for approval as part of the individual calls.

Applications can be submitted until 15 March 2023.
